main duties

Engineering

We are seeking an experienced security systems professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, installing and commissioning security systems for both commercial and domestic customers. They will be expected to take a proactive approach to problem-solving, applying analytical skills to diagnose and resolve issues.

In addition to technical expertise, the candidate should be an excellent communicator with a commitment to maintaining a positive image of the company. They will be responsible for completing all necessary documentation, ensuring that it is handed over to the appropriate parties and that the acceptance certificate is signed.

The candidate will also be required to provide regular updates to the Service Co-ordinator and/or Project Manager regarding call status and installation status. They must maintain any company vehicle provided to them in good working order and in compliance with legal requirements.

This is a demanding position that requires flexibility, initiative and the ability to work to tight deadlines. Additional duties may be required in line with operational requirements.

Engineering administration

As a member of our team, your responsibilities will include ensuring that the appropriate spares, consumables, and test equipment required to complete assigned tasks are available on the company vehicle provided for efficient service. You will be responsible for testing systems and accurately reporting on activities completed at customers’ sites.

As an active member of the on-call team at all levels, you will be expected to support other team members and contribute to the successful operation of the team. In addition, you will be required to report any site left non-operational following a site visit.

It is essential that you complete all paperwork, time sheets, and emails in a timely manner to ensure the smooth running of our operations. This will help us to maintain our high standards of service and meet the needs of our customers.

Skills, knowledge & experience

Required:

We are looking for a candidate who has the ability to install, commission and service our core range of security systems, including CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarms. A full driving licence is also required for this role.

The candidate should have strong IT skills and the ability to diagnose network-related faults with software or hardware. They should also possess knowledge of networking, including port forwarding. The candidate should be able to set up and commission intruder signalling equipment and undertake site takeovers.

Desirable:

We value the health and safety of our employees and customers, so experience in safe working at heights, City & Guilds Street works, IPAF – mobile elevated platforms, PASMA, IOSH or equivalent is desirable.

Additional desirable experience includes Paxton Access Control experience and Texecom and Galaxy Intruder Alarm experience.
