Addenbrookes Hospital – Remedial Fire Stopping Works
ClearView has recently completed the remedial fire stopping works throughout Addenbrookes Hospital. The Addenbrookes Hospital is an internationally known university teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Cambridge, based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The hospital tendered for a certified, reputable company to carry out the fire stopping remedials throughout the premises. After a successful tender process, ClearView was awarded the passive fire protection contract.
Requirements:
The scope of the project included the necessary fire stopping remedials highlighted within the fire risk assessment and fire stopping report. Working out of hours was also required for the majority of the project. Engineers were to work through the night to guarantee project completion with minimal disturbances to the hospital. Therefore pre-planning, regular client contact and onsite management support during the project were essential to ensure that each phase complied with the highest standard and within the time scale and budget. Because the hospital required ten days’ notice before conducting any work on-site, we had to create a work schedule and stick to this programme.
Solution:
We have used QuelFire products throughout, including installing fire batt, acrylic mastic, HP mastic, collars and pipe wrap within the riser cupboards, hallways, and rooms with difficult access through the ceiling grids.
All fire stopping installation work was carried out by our NVQ level 2 approved engineers in passive fire protection and logged onto our online portal. Here the client can log in for updates on the project’s progress.
