Embracing Sustainable Practices: Clearview’s Journey to become Net Zero

ClearView is committed to environmental guardianship and has partnered with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a corporate climate action NGO collaborating with prominent entities like CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and the We Mean Business Coalition. This partnership underscores our commitment to combat climate change and align our business growth with sustainable practices.

The Science Based Targets Initiative:

The SBTi is a global initiative guiding companies to set science-based emissions reduction targets and monitor progress. It presents a well-defined pathway for businesses to curtail greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, thereby mitigating the severe impacts of climate change and fostering resilient business growth. The SBTi, in line with climate science, defines and promotes best practices in emissions reduction and net-zero targets.

Clearview’s Environmental Policy:

Clearview has officially enrolled in the SBTi to address scope 1 and 2 emissions, diligently monitoring usage and production in alignment with set targets. The company aims to achieve NetZero by 2050, extending its commitment to reducing scope 3 emissions. This ambitious goal involves engaging staff to ensure greater commitment and improved performance.

Clearview’s Science Based Targets:

Clearview’s commitment to sustainability is evidenced by its adoption of a streamlined target validation route for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The company commits to reducing scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2021 base year and aims to achieve net-zero by 2050, with a 90% reduction in scope 1+2+3 emissions.

Implementation of Targets:

Clearview implements its targets through a variety of initiatives, including the installation of solar panels to contribute energy back into the grid. The introduction of van trackers helps monitor mileage, speed, and petrol usage. Upgrading to compliant and electric vans, striving towards a paperless office, and utilising recycled paper are integral steps. Additionally, facilitating remote work, sourcing second-hand office furniture, and donating old equipment further contribute to Clearview’s holistic approach to sustainability.

Clearview  is not just setting targets; it’s actively embracing sustainable practices to create a lasting positive impact on the environment and society.

Continuous Improvement:

Committed to excellence in every aspect, we strive to minimise our environmental impact and regularly reviews and update our environmental policy. The management team wholeheartedly endorses these policy statements and is fully dedicated to their implementation.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

Clearview actively involves subcontractors, requiring them to adhere to environmental standards outlined in contractor terms and conditions. The company collaborates with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors, encouraging them to enhance their environmental performance. Additionally, a preference for local labour and material suppliers is adopted to minimise the company’s CO2 footprint.
