Thurrock Council – CCTV Upgrade & Fire Stopping

CCTV installation with Fire Stopping works within 15 high-rise blocks
This project was delivered within budget and was completed five weeks ahead of schedule. The total installation duration was seven weeks.

Objective:

CCTV systems were required by the Council to safeguard residents and help combat anti-social behaviour. ClearView designed systems to provide coverage of the communal areas, lifts, motor rooms, bin storerooms, fire alarm panels, and the roof access stairs.

Solution:

The system comprised 240 IP cameras installed in 15 residential blocks. These were integrated into a Video Management System installed and maintained by ClearView. The company also designed and installed the control room used for camera monitoring.

Prior to installation, a Gantt Chart was created to document the schedule of the project. This included key activities for each of the high-rise buildings such as FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), 1st fix and 2nd fix cable runs and CCTV installation, system commissioning and quality assurance visits.

Fire Stopping

To remain compliant with building regulations, ClearView carried out Fire Stopping of all cable routes that were installed during the installation.

Client Testimonial

In 2019, Thurrock Council and Clearview Communications carried out works to install 240 new cameras into 15 High Rise blocks of flats on floor landings to assist with Health & Safety and Anti-Social Behaviour issues. This was done following consultations with residents within the flats over a period of six months.

The cameras also provide the added benefit of assisting with fire safety within the blocks and will provide added assistance with any potential evacuation situations. The quality of the cameras is very good and we have had many successes with the cameras in relation to ASB within the blocks.” – Gary Weatherley (CCTV Concierge Manager)
